School Counseling

Good Morning Parents,

We are in the process of electing parent and business representatives for our School Governance Council for the 2022-2023 school year.

School Governance Councils will work with school leadership and the community to help determine the long-term direction of the school, design innovative solutions to increase student achievement, and serve as school ambassadors to the local community.

School Governance Councils will have the power to:

(a) Provide input on the school improvement plan and provide oversight of its implementation as well as provide input into innovations that would traditionally require a waiver.

(b) Provide input on school budget priorities that are aligned with the school and district improvement plans, use of charter system funds, and school fundraisers.

(c) Provide input into the selection of the curriculum and accompanying materials consistent with the district's Essential and Innovative Features as included in the charter contract.

(d) Participate in hiring the principal, in the case of a vacancy

(e) Provide input into school operations that are consistent with school improvement and charter goals.

In order to be eligible to serve on the School Governance Council, you must have a child who attends the school and you must be at least 18 years of age.
